100 Year Old Suspension Bridge for Walking Only

One mile north of the Hawthorne Historic Inn you will find The Spruce Street Bridge spanning a beautiful canyon. Along the way you will pass a meditation retreat also, over 100 years old. And even the Hawthorne Historic Inn's second owner was a mystic and founding member of the Theosophical Society. But now about the Spruce Street Bridge:

That's the bridge - originally built so commuters could walk across and catch the 4th Avenue trolley. And here is the view - but much more lush now.

As I mentioned this is one of the few remaining bridges of its type in Southern CA.
